The Syrian valley of Alomex will be given to Jews under a long-term concession, M. Iurieux, the French commissioner in Alexandretta, disclosed today at a meeting of the district administration.
A Jewish company, the commissioner said, has approached the government with a view to obtaining a concession on this land, ex##essing readiness to undertake its drainage on a large scale. The offer is being favorably considered by the French authorities, he added.
The district administration meeting, after hearing from the French commissioner more details on the Jewish offer, expressed the opinion that the offer should be taken up with the reaching of a favorable result anticipated.
