France’s extreme-right National Front Party is helping fund a similar party in Sweden so it can participate in that country’s Sept. 20 general elections. Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen said he is helping the Sweden Democrats because they are a “new, young and poor party.” The far-right Swedish party won 12,651 votes when it ran for the first time in Sweden’s last general election in 1994.
