France’s foreign minister lashed out at Israel’s policies. During a speech Wednesday to French legislators, Hubert Vedrine blasted the “absurdity” of Israel’s “policy of pure military repression.” Vedrine added that “since the Israeli government and the American government contest the political legitimacy” of the Palestinian Authority, the Palestinians should hold new elections that would be “democratically incontestable.”
