Sources close to President Georges Pompidou said today that the Middle East situation will be discussed during the France-German summit meeting Thursday in Bonn. The sources said, however, that France was “pessimistic” about chances for peace in that region.
The sources said: “we feel that the passing of time has not helped to heal the situation. On the contrary the chances for an eventual settlement are slimmer now than ever before.”
