The Frankfurt Criminal Court refused yesterday to release Herman Krumey, a former SS officer who served as adjutant to Adolf Eichmann and who had asked to be freed, Krumey, who has been detained since May 24, has been charged with participation in the executions of hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews in 1944.
Friedrich Tillman, who was instrumental in the killing of 60,000 Jews and other persons as part of the Nazi’s so-called mercy killing program of mental patients during the Second World War, has been arrested, police here announced today. The 56-year-old former Nazi, who was apprehended two weeks ago, was an office aid of Dr. Werner Heyde, who was arrested last November on charges of having headed the Nazi “euthanasia program.”
