A new high school here will be named after Martin Buber, the German-born Jewish philosopher who died in Israel last year. The decision to name the school after the world-famous philosopher was adopted by the Frankfurt municipality at the request of the Christian Democratic faction. The municipality had also considered naming a street after Buber, but the idea was dropped to avoid confusion with the already existing Martin Lackerstrasse.
