With delegates in attendance from seven states, the twenty-sixth annual convention of the Order Sons of Zion was to open at Bradley Beach, N. J., Saturday night. The sessions will continue through Sunday and Monday, culminating with election of officers Monday afternoon.
The delegates were to be greeted by Joseph Kraemer of Newark, grand master of the Order, and Louis Myers of New York, first vice-grand master and chairman of the convention committee. On Sunday morning Mr. Kraemer will deliver his annual message and a report will be given by the grand secretary, Heinrich Abramowitz of New York. There also will be reports by Dr. S. S. Neumann of New York, chief medical examiner, and by Dr. Harry J. Levine of the Bronx, second vice-grand master and chairman of the committee on Palestinian endeavor.
Guest speakers scheduled to address the various sessions of the convention include Abraham Goldberg of the Hebrew Federation and Rabbi Israel Goldstein, president of the Jewish National Fund of America.
The principal speaker at the convention banquet tonight (Sunday) will be Morris Rothenberg, president of the Zionist Organization of America. Kraemer also will speak and Dr. Joseph I. Steinberg will act as toastmaster.
A special polling place has been set up in the La Reine Hotel to permit delegates to cast their votes in the Zionist Congress elections today.
