More than 2,500 persons representing 400 fraternal and benevolent organizations met yesterday at the Riverside Plaza Hotel and pledged their support to the United Jewish Appeal.

Wise, declared: “We are prepared to furnish such foods as are necessary for the observance of the Passover ceremony among our people who are living in terror-ridden Europe. Arrangements already have been made by our affiliated committees abroad for the purchase of foodstuffs on the continent and for their distribution to Jewish communities in need. All that is needed is the necessary funds.”
Other speakers included Dr. D.L. Meckler, Dr. S. Margoshes, Dr. L. Fogelman, Rabbi Israel Goldstein, Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum, head of the Central Relief Committee, and Adolph Held.
