There is no historic soil in the United States to support the growth of permanent prejudice, Rabbi Solomon B. Freehof of Pittsburgh declared yesterday morning in the first of three forums in connection with Central Synagogue’s ninetieth anniversary. He spoke on “The Destiny of the Jew in the United States.”

Rabbi Jonah B. Wise of Central Synagogue declared in an address over the Columbia Broadcasting System’s network that American democracy is a crystallization of concepts set forth in the Bible. “If there is any program of life, any one religious faith adapted to American life and has had a profound influence in guiding that life, that faith is the one which springs from the Scriptures of the Jews,” he said.
