Jean Begthier, charged with denouncing seven Jews to the Gestapo during the Nazi occupation, was sentenced today to ten years at hard labor by a special Seine tribunal. The seven Jews, who were hiding in a hotel in the Hautes Alpes Department, were deported to Germany. Only one lived to return to France.
