The Consistoire of French Jewry called today for a general assembly of the organization to meet here January 16 to elect a new Grand Rabbi of France. The post has been empty since 1952 when Grand Rabbi I. Schwartz died. Rabbi Jacob Kaplan has held the post of Acting Grand Rabbi since then.
