The British Foreign Office has received from the French government a memorandum suggesting that the question of the claim of a French group to the Dead Sea concession be submitted to the Hague tribunal, Reuter’s has learned from unofficial sources. The memorandum was submitted about a week ago by the French ambassador. No reply has as yet been sent.
It is understood that the British government has never admitted the validity of the claim and is expected to proceed in the matter according to previous declarations on the subject.
