Andre Blumel, president of the Zionist Federation of France, urged the French Government to take action to prevent the recurrence of anti-Jewish incidents in Algeria. In an article in the current issue of the Zionist Tribune, the veteran Jewish leader cites a number of recent anti-Jewish incidents of violence.

M. Blumel recalls that some of France’s most notorious anti-Semites were natives of Algeria. His appeal was picked up and reported by Le Monde, France’s leading daily, which described it as a “sincere appeal which should not be for gotten.”
