General Von Lossow, formerly Military Attache to the German Embassy in Constantinople during the war, is now participating in the Turkish War Council at Angora, as military adviser to the Turkish bands, which have been making raids on the northern border of Syria.
General Weygand, the French High Commissioner of Syria, has urged the military authorities in Paris to send him reinforcements. It is stated, however, that Poincare and General Foch are opposed to the sending of more troops to the Near East, prefering the evacuation of Syria to that.
