The mayor of the town of Arrovnay in occupied France has been arrested on the charge of failing to report to the authorities that three foreign-born Jews were living in his district, it is reported in the Pariser Zeitung reaching here today. The mayor, whose name was not given, was dismissed from his post some time ago because he allegedly “protected” the three Jews.
In Paris today the German military authorities reporting the execution of five persons in reprisal for the killing of a German sentry, announced that additional numbers of “Jews and Communists” will be shot if the guilty persons are not apprehended by April 17.
