A Beirut dispatch to the Hebrew newspaper Hamashkif reported today that 20 Jewish illegal immigrants had been arrested by the French authorities at the Lebanese frontier as they were about to cross into Palestine. The immigrants said they were part of a group of 560 Jewish refugees who had disembarked at Alexandretta. They could not say what had happened to the remainder of the group.
