Three members of the State Council were retired today under the law of Oct. 18 barring Jews from public service. They are Georges Cahen Salvador and Jacques Helbronner, both of whom are members of the Jewish Consistory and were nominated as honorary divisional presidents of the State Council, and Pierre Seligman, who was nominated as honorary State councillor.
Meanwhile, the Jewish Consistory’s application for a permit for publication of a communal Jewish paper was refused.
