Nazi racial policy and the application of the “Aryan clause in the ousting of the Jews had no scientific or biological importance, but was based on political necessity in the highest interests of the state.”
By the terms of Dr. Frick’s order employes who entered the service of the government since July, 1933, will face a specially severe “Aryan” inquisition. Under the “grandmother clause” the new government employes will be compelled to furnish documentary proof of “pure Aryanism” for at least three generations. The order also provided for the immediate dismissal of any government employe, no matter what the length of his service, who failed to submit advance proof the absolute “Aryan” descent of intended brides. Superior officials of the various departments in the government services were made responsible for carrying out the “Aryanization” of the bureaus under their control.
Immediately after the Nazis came into power they began their campaign of “Aryanization” and under the terms of the “Aryan clause” expelled from government services and the professions all those who were unable to qualify.
Despite the fact that officials announced last year that the “Aryan” purge was complete, this new campaign is now under way.
