Today, the fourth Friday since the beginning of the Arab outbreak, passed quietly. The usual services at the Mosque of Omar were attended by 4,000 Moslems from the nearby villages, as compared with 20,000 on August 23, when the riots broke out.
All outsiders were searched for arms on the roads leading to Jerusalem.
Today’s quiet makes continued calm in the country practically certain.
Twenty-four Arabs from the villages Seidoun and Hulda, adjoining the Hulda Jewish labor settlement and a village adjoining Kastinia, were sentenced to six months imprisonment each. They were all found in possession of property looted from these colonies.
