A 10,000-TREE GEORGE GERSHWIN MEMORIAL FOREST IN PALESTINE IS BEING PLANNED BY FRIENDS OF THE LATE COMPOSER, WHO HAVE FORMED A COMMITTEE TO SPONSOR A MEMORIAL CONCERT IN THE METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE ON JAN. 11, IT WAS ANNOUNCED TODAY.

THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMITTEE IS I.A. HIRSCHMANN. THE FOREST WILL BE LOCATED ON A HILLSIDE NOT FAR FROM THE OSSIP GABRILOWITSCH GROVE.
