Daniel Frisch, president of the Zionist Organization of America, who has just returned from a visit to Israel where he participated in the current session of the Jewish Agency executive in Jerusalem, disclosed at a press conference today that he plans to convoke a conference of leaders of all sections of American Zionism for the purpose of considering a plan whereby differences among the Zionist parties would be submerged.
“Our efforts in the direction of the consolidation of all parties in a united front for the forthcoming World Zionist Congress are bearing fruit,” he said. “As a result we may expect a much higher degree of intra-party peace and harmony in the Zionist movement than we anticipated before.”
The Z.O.A. president added that “American Zionism, in the opinion of the leaders of Israel, has a historic role to play not only in developing the American Jewish community which, together with the state of Israel, represents the greatest hope of the Jewish people, but also in aiding in the in-gathering of the remnants of the once populous and powerful centers throughout the world.”
