Full Ethiopian recognition of Israel and the establishment of diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations is expected to be announced soon, Nathan Marein, general advisor to Emperor Haile Selassie and member of the Addis Ababa Supreme Court, said here today. He is visiting Jerusalem, his birthplace.
Judge Marein added that the people of Ethiopia are primarily interested in trade with Israel, probably on a barter basis. He said that Ethiopia could export to the Jewish state large quantities of cattle, hides, eggs and pultry in exchange for medicines, medical equipment and textiles.
