Funeral services were held today for Alexander Konoff, a one-time immigrant with no formal education who amassed a fortune as an industrialist and was one of the chief benefactors of the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. Mr. Konoff, a vice president of the American Technion Society, died at the Albert Einstein Medical Center on Friday at the age of 85. In 1949 he received an honorary degree in mechanical engineering from the Technion.
