Funeral services were held today for Reuben Weissman, the “grand old man of the Yiddish theatre, “who died at his home yesterday from natural cause. He was 81 years old.
Mr. Weissman was an organizer of the Hebrew Actors Union and the Jewish Theatrical Alliance, although he himself was never an actor. He was known as the first professional prompter of the Yiddish stage in America.
