Funeral services for Benjamin Feigenbaum, noted Jewish Socialist writer and leader will be held on Sunday at noon in Forward Hall.
Mr. Feigenbaum died on Thursday morning in the Home for Incurables. He had been ill for the last ten years, the last three of which he was paralyzed.
Up until he was completely incapacitated Mr. Feigenbaum continued to take an interest in Socialist doings with particular reference to the Jewish aspects.
Mr. Feigenbaum who came to this country in 1891, was one of the founders of the Workmen’s Circle and the Jewish Daily Forward, remaining as a contributor to the paper for many years. He was the first secretary of the Workmen’s Circle to whose development he contributed much. He was also one of the leaders and organizers of the union movement in this country.
Mr. Feigenbaum was born on August
12, 1860, a member of a prominent Chassidic family of Warsaw. He came to this country in 1891 at the invitation of “The Workers Paper.” Later he became associated with the Jewish Daily Forward and in 1903 became editor of the “Zukunft”.
Interment will take place in the Workmen’s Circle Cemetery, Mt. Carmel. His widow, two sons, two daughters and five grandchildren survive. A son, William, is editor of the Socialist paper, “The New Leader.”
