Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2.30 at Temple Emanu-El for Harry Allan Jacobs, prominent American Jewish architect.
Rabbi Henry Fisher of Atlantic City, a nephew of the deceased, will officiate. Interment will take place at the Salem Fields cemetery.
Mr. Jacobs was sixty years old and died at the Mount Sinai Hospital following an operation.
Educated in the United States and abroad, and winner of the Prix de Rome, he designed many notable buildings and residences.
As a member of Mayor Walker’s Committee on Plan and Survey, he designed seven low bridges across the East river. He spent much time in planning means of relieving the congestion of the city’s thoroughfares and enhancing its beauty.
Samuel E. Gold of Philadelphia, is the new executive director of Temple B’nai Abraham in Newark, largest Conservative house of worship in New Jersey. Mr. Gold was formerly identified with a number of communal institutions in Pennsylvania. Albert Hollander is president of the Temple, and Rabbi Julius Silberfeld, spiritual leader.
