The Charity Chest of the Fur Industry in New York has so far distributed approximately $152,000 to 760 charitable organizations as against approximately $178,000 for the same period during the year 1927 for 740 institutions, Michael Jalkoff, treasurer of the Chest announced.
The reduction in the amount distributed so far this year is due largely to the unfortunate financial condition which has prevailed in the industry during the past year, Mr. Jalkoff stated. All the present indications point to an improvement in the financial condition and the Steering Committee of the Charity Chest is already engaged in the preparation of plans for the next campaign. he added.
