Five leading rabbis of Britain, Eire and Northern Ireland, led by British Chief Rabbi Israel Brodie, today broadcast an appeal to the Jews living in Israel and other parts of the world where they are guaranteed freedom of speech to speak out against the Soviet anti-Jewish campaign.

Speaking on a British Broadcasting Corporation Hebrew program beamed to Israel. Dr. Brodie and his colleagues charged that the Communists were attempting to exploit “latent anti-Semitism in Russia and the satellite states.” The rabbis rejected the argument that the current campaign is not anti-Semitic because anti-Semitism is banned by law in the U.S.S.R.
