G. P. U. Arrest Jews for Selling Horse Skins

The G.P.U., Russian secret police, have arrested a number of Jews in the township of Yanovo, in the Vinnitza region, for urging the neighboring peasants to kill their horses before joining the collectives. This agitation is alleged to have resulted in the poor and middle class peasants having killed during one month more than three thousand horses and selling the skins to the Jews now under arrest for five or ten roubles #ach. The Jews are then said to have #esold the skins to the government ##ather syndicate. The Yanovo head of the syndicate is now being tried for #ncouraging such deals by advancing the money for buying the skins.
