A request not to call an election of the Jewish Religious Council, for fear that radical elements will be elected, was made to President Moscicki today by a delegation of the Galician Rabbinical Union, which was received by the President. The delegates asked that the government should appoint the members of the Council.
The members of the Jewish Religious Council, who serve in the capacity of advisory council to the Minister of Religion in matters of interest to Judaism and to Polish-Jewish problems, must be elected, according to the regulations of the Jewish kehillah. The Council consists of 21 members, seven of whom are rabbis.
