The Minister of Information, Israel Galili told a meeting of Government information officials here that he saw no likelihood of direct Soviet military intervention against Israel in the foreseeable future. According to Israel Galili, who is in charge of Government information services, the global interests of the USSR and the nature of its deployment, rules out military intervention in the Middle East. Mr. Galili said he believed that while Soviet influences were growing in the Arab world, the various Arab states retained sufficient sovereignty to initiate hostilities against Israel on their own, with or without Moscow’s approval.
