One Jew was badly burned by a gasoline bomb in clashes between Jews and Moslems that broke out in the Belleville quarter of Paris Sunday night and continued yesterday. The district was quiet today but tension persisted. The local rabbi toured the streets with a loudspeaker to urge Jews to return to their homes. Large numbers of Tunisian Jews live in Belleville. A Tunisian envoy in Paris appealed to the Tunisian community to remain calm.

In all, 12 persons, including several Jews, were injured in the fighting. Jewish circles here attributed the clash to the anniversary of the Six-Day War. All French Jewish organizations held special meetings on the situation in anticipation of further rioting.
