Israeli security forces this week agreed to let a Gaza man visit his gay partner in Israel, a Jewish Israeli who lives in the center of the country.

The permission was granted after the homosexual couple appealed to Environment Minister Yossi Sarid.

Israel Radio reported the permit was issued for a period of a month, but the security establishment assured Sarid that it would turn into a permanent one, enabling the couple to live together.

The move came after Israel this week lifted a closure that was imposed on the territories nearly a month ago, in an effort to prevent suicide terror attacks during the Jewish holiday period.
