Jewish refugees from Gaza had words of praise here for Hajsaid Eishawa, a local Arab leader, for defending the Jews in time of danger. Refugees who visited Gaza found property there intact, except the hotel and grocery shop which were broken into at the beginning of the riots.
Assistant District Commissioner Lovett of Beisan has also been lauded for his conduct during the time of danger, preventing the looting of property.
