Magistrate Jonah J. Goldstein sitting in the Essex Market Court Friday, held the Gellis Provisions Co., 35 Essex street, and Samuel Glass, grandfather of the president of the Gellis Co., for Special Sessions Court.

At the hearing before Judge Goldstein, which lasted three days, laymen and rabbis testified. Both Glass and the company were accused by the food inspection department of the Board of Health of selling non-kosher meat in a kosher establishment.

Glass and Joseph Langsner, who were found guilty earlier in the week of disorderly conduct in connection with an assault upon Maurice Goldstein, Health Department Inspector, were each given sentences of $15 or two days in jail.
