Replying to charges of mistreatment of displaced Jews in the camps in the American-held zone in Germany, Lt. Gen. Walter B. Smith, who is Gen. Eisenhower’s chief of staff, today invited correspondents to inspect the camps where the Jewish refugees are living. He added that he would place his own plane at the disposal of any correspondent who wished to fly to any of the camps.
