Three General Zionist leaders from Israel who came to this country at the invitation of the American branch of the World Confederation of General Zionists today told a press nonferrous that “the only policy that can develop Israel is that of General Zionism.” They also emphasized the need for increased capital investment in the new state.
The Israel General Zionists who took part in the news parley were Mosho Kol, member of the Jewish Agency executive in Jerusalem in charge of Youth Aliyah; Joseph Serlin, Knesset deputy and vice-president of the General Zionist Party in Israel; and Itzhak Kubowitzki, director of the General Zionist Constructive Fund in Israel.
Mr. Kol stressed that “the problems in Israel caused by the unprecedented immigration can be solved only by a national unity in Israel and close cooperation of world Jewry with the state of Israel.” Mr. Serlin, declaring that if all General Zionist groups in Israel were to unite “they would in effect have the second largest representation in the Knesset,” said that “General Zionists emphasize the development of the state above all other interests.” Mr. Kubowitzki described the functions of the Fund which he heads.
