Leaders of the General Zionist party, which emerged victorious in the recent municipal elections in Israel, today issued a warning that if their group does not receive one percent of United Jewish Appeal funds they will initiate a fund-raising campaign of their own in the United States in 1951.
The announcement was made at a press conference addressed by Y. Kubowitzki, managing director of the General Zionist Constructive Fund. He said that during the four years of its existence, the Fund invested about $2,800,000 in settlement enterprises, housing projects, educational institutions and in aid to new immigrants.
