A protest against the decision to postpone the meeting of the Actions Committee which was to have met last night was made officially to Dr. Leo Motzkin, chairman of the committee, by the General Zionists, following a lengthy consultation. The General Zionists consider any postponement as being against the spirit of the Zionist constitution.
In calling a meeting of the presidium for today, Dr. Motzkin revised the earlier decision to postpone the sitting until Thursday. According to Dr. Motzkin, the committee was anxious to gain a few days respite in order to clarify its attitude towards the political problems connected with Palestine as well as with the fate of the Jews in the Diaspora. This is the first time that any divergence of opinion has arisen between the General Zionists and the Laborites who are expected to control the Congress through a coalition.
The Laborites, it is learned, remain adamant in their demands that the Grossman representation on the committee be reduced from seven to two, a move which is being strongly opposed by Meir Grossman, leader of the Democratic Revisionists.
