Genetic tests conducted in Britain, Canada and Israel have confirmed that today’s Kohanim are indeed direct descendants of the priestly class founded by the biblical Aaron. The research was conducted on 306 Kohanim and the results published in the latest edition of the scientific journal “Nature.” The study found that Kohanim bear a consistent genetic “fingerprint” and are genetically distinguishable from other Jews.
