A resolution calling for the formation of international bodies, either of United Nations specialized agencies or of governments themselves, to hear complaints on prejudice and discrimination in contravention of the UN Charter, the Declaration of Human Rights and international conventions, was adopted here today as the five-day convention of non-governmental organizations on means of eradicating prejudice and discrimination came to an end.
The decisions and recommendations reached at the parley, in which the representatives of 97 organizations participated, will be presented to the annual meeting of the UN Commission on Human Rights, which begins a 26-day session here tomorrow.
Among the other resolutions adopted today were several calling for the elimination of prejudice and discrimination through educational and legislative programs. It was decided that the next such session, which was held under the aegis of the UN Economic and Social Council, should be held within two years.
