George Backer, president of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, has been elected to the board of directors of the Palestine Economic Corporation, it was announced today by Bernard Flexner, chairman of the corporation.
The corporation has published a pamphlet outlining its ten years of activity since it was founded to further the economic development of Palestine and thereby enable an ever-increasing number of Jewish immigrants to become self-supporting settlers. The corporation operates through the Central Bank of Cooperative Institutions in Palestine, Ltd.; Palestine Mortgage and Credit Bank, Ltd.; Palestine Water Co., Ltd.; Bayside Land Corp., Ltd., and the Loan Bank, Ltd.
