The State of Virginia yesterday issued a corporation charter to the “George Lincoln Rockwell Party” despite protests that this, in effect, legalized a Nazi movement.
Checks used to pay the state Corporation Commission’s fees listed the “American Nazi party” as the remitter. Several months ago, the Commission had canceled a previous charter issued in the name of the “American Nazi party.”
Purposes of the Rockwell party on the new charter statement included “the gaining of political power in the United States by all legal means and effective processes” and the “education of the American public.” Rockwell was listed, along with Nazi lieutenants on the party’s board of directors.
