Declaring that Britain’s attitude to the Palestine issue is “vacillating, reprehensible and non-constructive,” Gerard Swope, president of the General Electric Company and noted U.S. industrialist, today declined to accept an appointment as “Honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.”
