Anton Wedl, a well-known German-American resident of New York, died here today in the Weiner Sanitarium. Mr. Wedl was a notable friend of the Jews and was an important supporter of Austrian Jewish writers, despite the fact that he was an orthodox Catholic. The Vienna papers recall the fact that he was an intimate friend of the former Chief Rabbi Chajes.
