A call to German groups and individuals in the United States to sign a declaration asking the Allied Governments to do everything in their power to save the remaining Jews in Nazi Europe before they are annihilated, was issued today by the German American Congress for Democracy, an anti-Nazi organization.
The declaration points out that “never before in the history of mankind have such barbarities been inflicted upon innocent people with such deliberate brutality.” It emphasizes that “the Nazi persecutions of Jews constitute a dreadful crime” and calls upon people in Germany to openly disassociate themselves from the “Nazi bestialities” against Jews, otherwise “the world may one day identify the German people with the crimes committed by the Gestapo, S. S. and the Nazi storm troops.”
