A little comedy that may be entitled “Discrimination within the Fold” has thrown the small Jewish community of Gemnitz into a furor. The native Jewish population of the city issued a decree that immigrant Jews from Eastern Europe were not to be given the right of suffrage. The Eastern European Jews followed with a “no representation-no taxation” move. They decided that they would not contribute to the support of the Community and would launch a financial boycott of the native Jews. As a result, the Jewish Community is a crisis.
