A German anti-Semite, Kurt Mueller, was sentenced here to $35 fine and three weeks’ imprisonment–but was placed on probation for three years–for insulting Heinz Galinski, president of the West Berlin Jewish Community.
At a public meeting held last year to commemorate the pogroms of November 1938, Mr. Galinski had spoken out against the glorification of Nazi war criminals released from Soviet custody. Thereupon, Mueller filed with the Berlin District Attorney a criminal complaint against Galinski, replete with anti-Semitic references.
After the District Attorney had quashed the proceedings instituted by Mr. Mueller, Mr. Galinski in his turn brought suit because of a number of insulting passages in Mr. Mueller’s various communications.
