Two Germans were today sentenced to eight-month prison terms in a German court here for desecrating a memorial to Jewish victims of the Nazis in the Berlin Jewish cemetery. The Germans were Hans Waskow, 22, and Kurt Zeitel, 26.
Defense counsel for three Nazis convicted and sentenced by an American court at Baireuth, Bavaria, for desecration the only synagogue in the town of Marktredwitz earlier this year today announced that an appeal will be made to an American review board. He charged that the desecration had been carried out by Jews in order to “disoriminate against the defendants and the Marktredwitz population.”
In Bamberg, also in Bavaria, a German court dismissed charges against three German boys, aged 10, 13 and 15, who had overturned tombstones in a Jewish cemetery. Before he freed them, the judge gave them a warning.
