German Culture Week opened here Saturday night with a concert at the Mann Auditorium that was marred by anti-German demonstrations outside and inside the hall. In Jerusalem, Mayor Teddy Kollek, obviously under heavy pressure, announced the municipality’s withdrawal from co-sponsorship of the event because “it offends a part of the population.” The demonstrations were by Betar and members of organizations of resistance fighters and concentration camp survivors. The concert was poorly attended.
